Fun channels gameplay on Discord

On Discord, the Fun channels module polices the game channels on its own, so your members can have fun without adding work for the moderation team.

The goal is to count as high as possible together, without making a mistake.

  • Numbers only: every message sent in this channel must start with the next number in the sequence (for example if the last number was 14, the next message must be 15).
  • No self-replies: a user cannot post two numbers in a row. They have to wait for another member to post the next number.

If a player posts the wrong number, plain text, or tries to double-post:

  • Kotbo instantly deletes the offending message.
  • The bot may add a warning reaction.
  • The current score is either kept or reset depending on your settings (if reset, players have to start again from 1).

The community collaborates on an endless story by writing one word at a time.

  • One word per message: messages containing spaces, complex punctuation or several words are not allowed.
  • No consecutive turns: you cannot post two words in a row. Another player has to add a word before you can write again.
  • Any message with more than one word, or posted consecutively by the same author, is deleted automatically by the bot within a second.
  • The story reads smoothly from top to bottom in the channel.

Kotbo generates a secret number in the background, and players have to guess it by posting values in the channel.

  1. Players post numbers in the channel (for example 42).
  2. Kotbo checks the guess and replies publicly:
    • “Higher!” (if the mystery number is greater).
    • “Lower!” (if the mystery number is smaller).
  3. Players adjust their next guesses accordingly.
  4. As soon as a member hits the exact number:
    • The bot announces the win and mentions the winner.
    • The round ends, and a new mystery number is generated automatically (or manually by staff from the dashboard).
