Plans & billing
A server’s plan determines which modules are available. The Billing page shows the current plan, offers the higher ones, and hands everything payment-related over to Stripe.
One all-in-one product, one price per size
Section titled “One all-in-one product, one price per size”Every paid plan opens the whole catalogue, including modules added later. What changes from one plan to the next is not what it contains, but the server size it is meant for.
| Plan | For a server of | What it opens |
|---|---|---|
| Gratuit | - | No module at all. Only the core pages stay reachable, long enough to pick a plan. |
| Plus | up to 1,000 members | The whole catalogue, at a small server’s price. |
| Pro | 1,001 to 10,000 members | The whole catalogue. |
| Ultimate | 10,001 to 100,000 members | The same product, sized for a large community. |
| Sur mesure | above 100,000 members | The whole catalogue, on terms agreed case by case. Never bought online. |
The server’s size decides which plan is offered: a single card carries a purchase button, the one for your tier. The others show Offre inférieure, point to the portal through Changer d’offre for a change mid-subscription, or read Compris dans votre accord on a server on the Sur mesure plan.
The free trial
Section titled “The free trial”Kotbo offers a 15-day trial, once per Discord account.
Pick a plan: the first fifteen days are not billed. Stripe asks for a card, but only charges it at the end of the trial, and cancelling before then costs nothing.
When the trial is not offered, the page says why:
- Vous avez déjà utilisé votre essai gratuit sur un serveur.
- Ce serveur a déjà bénéficié de son essai gratuit.
- Ce serveur est déjà abonné : le changement d’offre se fait au prorata depuis le portail Stripe.
- Cette offre ne comporte pas d’essai gratuit.
Subscribing and managing
Section titled “Subscribing and managing”The Mensuel / Annuel switch changes the prices shown; the saving announced on the yearly option is the smallest of the discounts, the one true for every plan. Prices include tax and are per Discord server.
The purchase button opens a Stripe-hosted checkout page, then brings you back to billing. While Stripe confirms, the plan may take a few seconds to update on screen.
The checkout page asks you to accept the terms of service: Kotbo opens the modules as soon as the payment is confirmed, which requires your express request for immediate delivery.
Once subscribed, Gérer mon abonnement opens the Stripe portal: payment method, invoices, prorated plan changes and cancellation. Access is kept until the end of the period already paid for.
The subscription status is spelled out next to the plan name: Actif, Période d’essai, Paiement en échec, Impayé, Résilié, Paiement incomplet, Paiement abandonné or En pause.
Annual renewal
Section titled “Annual renewal”An annual subscription about to renew triggers a prior notice, sent by DM to the payer - or, failing that, posted in a server channel - between two and three months before the due date.
The notice recalls the due date, that renewal is automatic unless cancelled, and that access stays open until that date if you cancel. A subscription already scheduled for cancellation gets none.
Who can access it
Section titled “Who can access it”Billing is not open to the whole staff:
- Server administrators can reach it and do everything there.
- The payer - the account that subscribed - can reach it too, even without being an administrator.
- Moderators only reach it if the server opened billing to them, and read-only: they see the plan and its status, but cannot pay, change plan or cancel.
Self-hosted instances
Section titled “Self-hosted instances”On an installation without a Stripe key - self-hosted or white-label - the page shows Facturation non activée sur cette instance. Every module then follows the server configuration, with no commercial plan. That is normal behaviour, not an error.
