Sanctions & reports

The Security → Sanctions page centralises every warning, timeout, kick and ban issued on your server, together with its author, its target and its detailed report.

The Sanctions list table shows the Date, Target, Duration and Status columns, along with the number of entries displayed out of the total.

  • The search field accepts a type, a target, a staff member or a reason.
  • The Reset filters and sorting button returns the table to its default state.
  • Clicking a target opens their moderation file, from where you can apply a new action.

Depending on the sanction and your rights, the action button changes:

  • Create the report: opens the form to complete for the selected sanction.
  • Add the evidence: the report is pre-filled but is waiting for an evidence link (screenshot, message…).
  • View the report: the report already exists and can be consulted.
  • Report reserved: only the person who applied the sanction can create this report.

The Sanction file form asks for:

  1. the date and time of the incident;
  2. the duration applied;
  3. the rules broken, picked from the articles of the Regulation module;
  4. the detailed reason for the facts;
  5. additional notes (context, history);
  6. at least one valid evidence link in http or https.

The Import sanctions button pulls in a history from another bot (Sapphire, MEE6, Dyno, RaidProtect…) in three steps:

Choose a file

Accepted formats: .json, .csv, .xlsx, .xls. The source bot can be specified, but stays optional.

Map the columns

Kotbo guesses the mapping (type, target, moderator, reason, date, duration). Check it and correct it before continuing.

Preview and import

The table shows valid rows and rows in error, which will be skipped. Run the import: the final summary counts imported sanctions, skipped duplicates and errors.

Reserved for administrators, deletion is irreversible and requires typing the word DELETE to be confirmed.

  • Moderator role: the role required to use the moderation commands.
  • Sanction propagation: automatically applies sanctions on linked servers.
  • Sanction reports: requires a detailed report for every sanction.
  • DM the appeal link on a permanent ban: sends the banned member the link to the appeal form. This setting is the same one as on the Ban appeals page.

A scale automatically escalates the sanction on each repeat of the same infraction.

  1. Under My scales, create a scale named after the infraction (Spam, Ads, Insults…). Click its name to rename it.
  2. Add tiers. For each tier, choose the action: Warn, Temporary ban, Kick or Permanent ban, together with a duration and a custom reason if the default reason does not fit.
  3. Use Insert a new tier to slot in a step, and the delete icon to remove one.
  4. A scale can be exported to be shared or archived.

On a repeat offence, Kotbo applies the next tier and records the scale name and the tier reached in the reason.

  • Ban appeals: handling appeals, documented on the Ban appeals page.
  • Permission approval: the Admin Lock queue, visible only when that lock is enabled in Filters (Auto moderation).
