Server backups
Backups freeze your Discord server’s structure: roles, channels, permissions, emoji and stickers. This is your safety net before a reorganisation or after an incident.
Creating a backup
Section titled “Creating a backup”Click New backup
The form opens.
Name it
Leave the field empty for the default dated name. An optional description helps later.
Choose what to include
Roles, Channels, Members, Emojis, Stickers and Messages.
Run the creation
Kotbo shows its progress: initialisation, connecting to Discord, extracting roles and channels, processing permissions and emoji, writing to the database.
Each backup in the list shows its author, its date, and a count of what it holds: roles, channels, members, emoji and stickers with their size.
Exporting and importing
Section titled “Exporting and importing”- Export downloads the backup as JSON. That is the only way to keep it outside Kotbo.
- Import a file loads an existing JSON back in, optionally under a new name.
Restoring
Section titled “Restoring”The Restore button applies a backup to the current server.
Deleting
Section titled “Deleting”Deleting a backup is irreversible. Kotbo asks for confirmation and recalls its name.
