General settings

The General settings gather what several modules use in common: the system channels, the base staff roles and the main integrations.

These channels act as the default for modules that do not declare one of their own:

Setting Purpose
Public channel The general public channel.
Logs channel The activity log channel.
Config channel The internal configuration channel.
News channel Where patch notes and staff news are published.
Daily Algo channel Where the daily exercises are published.
Meeting voice The default voice channel for meetings.

  • Base Staff Role: the team’s base role.
  • Trial Staff Role: the role for members in their trial period.

These two roles are what the Staff directory and Tutoring rely on.

Quick switches for the cross-cutting modules:

  • Auto-translation: translation of content.
  • Code Police: audit of code posted on the server.
  • Daily Algo: daily challenges.
  • GitHub Releases: new version notifications.
  • Propagate sanctions: cross-server synchronisation.
  • Cross-server record: share and view sanctions from other servers on the instance.

The Activity statistics switch measures member activity: messages, voice, reactions.

This is the server’s main privacy lever. Switched off, the Analytics page and Pulse have nothing left to show.

Changes go through the save bar at the bottom of the screen. Kotbo confirms with Global settings saved.

A per-field history shows who changed what, and everything is also recorded in the Activity log.
